Most billers I know wont go near a provider for 3-4%. 

Some providers get those numbers from so-called consulting expert companies, who try to get those numbers from medical biling forums.  Those numbers dont reflect what the true costs are because many billers will not reveal their fees as they are proprietary.

I once told a provider my fee was 35%. He said I was too high. I reminded him everyone turned him down so far and he wanted me to work on claims that were 4-6 years old.  Due to the age, it would be harder to collect and required more work and expenses to be successful.  The project lasted 3 months.  Turned out he didnt own the accounts even though the contract said he did.  His first check to me bounced.

I am starting a small new business this is all new to me. How do you  know what to charge clients I live in Texas, and very excited I know this is not an easy business to get stated
 any help? I'm a real newbie
