The big, fat MOTTO!

« Reply #7 on: July 21, 2011, 08:15:52 AM »

Over the years millions of websites have sprung up left and right. Some are built similar to mine, some are less colorful, or much jazzier (as you put it so well). However, when you take a closer look many are cold, artificial and built in cookie cutter fashion. Their content is spun from other authority sites and they do not offer the information people can use. Their blinking banner ads tell me that they were built to harvest leads and affiliate program dollars. When I see those sites I can instantly tell they were not built with the visitor in mind, nor with a passion, first hand knowledge and expertise to help people. One can tell they lack the expertise and first hand knowledge only experience and education can provide. I doubt that people stay long enough to even click on a single ad. So, again Steve, you are right.

On today's market a good domain name (no website attached) can sell from $20 to $2,000,000.00 just for the domain name alone (eg. medicalbillingandcoding.net, or medicalcodingandbilling.com). If a well designed, high ranking website comes with the domain then it increases the value. It's like buying a house. You can buy an emply lot which comes with a street number (domain name), or you can buy a lot with a house built on it (the website). It is very similar to real estate, as a matter of fact the real estate reference is made quite often in web development and design.

Any venture someone takes is based on personal choice.  While your wife may have offered this service, one must understand that an RN doesnt automatically make one a medical coder or medical biller.  If I am a doctor who decides to respond, I want to know the background beyond clinical medicine, successes and failures.  From a personal perspective, I have nothing against RNs, but Ive battled them because their response when Ive fought their claims denials is that, Im an RN and you're not, the denial is based on my personal opinion.  My response was Im a medical biller and you're not... personal opinion has no basis with the denial of the benefit.  Here are the laws, policies, regulations, and the fact that this is a payable benefit.  Check please.

Just because I see a nice jazzy website, it doesnt impress me.  I want to know the education, background, and experience of the person providing the service.  A question would be, Am I able to do what I am offering?  If you dont have the medical billing education and experience Im looking for, I will leave your website to never return nor will I recommend it to any of my colleagues, doctors or friends.   I dont mean to be blunt, but you have no clue how many offers I get to visit websites.  Its almost like being a judge on American Idol during tryouts.

Oh... LOL

I thought you left it for me, just because you are such a nice guy.

LOL

Funny how things left to circumstance sometimes just fall into place so nicely.

I wasnt quite awake, I didnt have my meds in me yet, nor did I have my coffee or breakfast or take a shower after doing my PT, I just graded about 5 final tests of a class Im teaching,  I received an email from someone who asked me:  Can you tell me everything I need to start my business and can you provide me with detailed instructions, in addition to any and all policies I must have,  so my brain was somewhat fried.

I would have deleted the link under normal circumstances.

Thanks Danni

I never go to any links that are not approved as being allowed to be posted.

Many links we get are for scams, not saying your link does this.

I cannot comment on what I cannot see.

When you visit someone's site, it helps to ask for permission to advertise what you wish to offer.

If you do sell it, you will probably be putting in lots of work to modify the site to the new owners preferences.

I agree with Steve and will not look at the site, since we do not post links, or unapproved advertisements, and this looks like it might be just that. I suspect Steve left the post intact simply out of kindness and for me to decide what to do, since he knows I have purchased and secured domain names in the medical billing and coding field before and developed, optimized and evaluated websites in this niche. Otherwise, it would have been removed already, I am sure.

Having said that, I will go ahead and remove the URL, since I do, from looking at the URL, now understand its intended target audience and your question.

To your question and to elaborate a little more on Steve's short reply: Some web developers just buy up domain names and develop the site themselves. It takes a lot of work and knowledge to develop a working website and when done the site needs to also be search engine ready and optimized to be found by the intended target audience on all search engines under many search words. Otherwise there is little value in the work, which typically takes weeks, if not months, or in my case, years.

Most developers are more interested in securing just a good domain name. However, if the content is well written and there are good stock photographs someone might take a developed site with the domain. I have registered my own domain names in the past, purchased a couple from others, and purchased developed sites which I have then changed. It all depends. There is a market out there, but this website is not intended to offer domain names. There are sites and forums for that, also. Therefore I've also removed your email and phone number you posted publicly. If anyone wants to know more, they can PM you through the private messaging button.

A couple of years ago, my ex-wife decided that she wanted to start a business as a medical claims advocate.  She has worked many years as both a RN and a medical transcriptionist.  I purchased a domain name [URL removed by admin]  She decided not to move forward and we got divorced.

My question is:  I have decided to develop the site and I was wondering is the medical billing industry would be the best place to offer this site for sale?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Sincerely,

Jason Collins
