Greetings all:
Let me make that first Mill and I will more more than happy to buy the first round, until then I all I can do is fax you a beer :-)
I appreciate everyone's hospitality and wish to both thank you and apologize in advance for the amount of leaning I may do. Application development in the industry doesn't necessarily equate to knowing the business inside out so this is certainly a transition in progress. If there is any gem that I could offer at this moment (and I suppose it applies to anyone in a leadership position) is to surround yourself with extremely knowledgeable people who are loyal and willing to work for you - they WILL make you look good.
We are in Florida and our specialties include Podiatry, Psychiatry, Nephrology, Urgent Care, Internal Medicine, Vascular Surgery, Pain Management, Colorectal Surgery, Lung Transplant (Pulmonology), and OB/GYN.
I look forward to chatting with all you. Cheers!

Hahaha! Just love it! Nice intro, excellent gem, and great sense of humor. Exactly what makes my day! Now, fax on over that beer. Make it a Spaten (or Samuel Adams).

Vielen Dank, Danni:

Bis Spater! Cheers!
(I think that's how they would say it in German. If I not, I should be receiving my Ruby Encrusted Llama in the mail any day now.)

Hello everyone!
My name is Shannon Boyd and live in Houston, TX. I have graduated with an Associates Degree in Medical Billing and Coding in 2006 and have been in search for a job ever since. The school I went to did not have an internship so I had no chance of getting my foot in the door. I have experience doing inpatient/outpatient data entry with a hospital and have also pulled Medical Records for auditing for another company.
I do know that most physician offices requires years of experience and some also require you to be Bilingual which I don't have. Can anyone help me or give me advice on what I should do. Thank you and any advice would be helpful.

Hi, my name is Sandy and am fairly new to the medical billing field.
I am looking to network with people who are billing for pediatrics and pediatric specialties, specifically from Michigan if at all possible, and dealing with Medicaid from there. I got into the field because I got laid off from my previous job. They paid for us to go back to school in the field of our choice. I have been hired by a 3rd party billing company. I really like my job and they are very supportive, but am looking for outside networking as well.

Welcome to the forum
Have a beer! Dont cost nuthin. Its neer beer.
Learn from the experts in the billing company. Dont let the ones who say we always do it this way if what they're doing is wrong sway you! watc out for the company know-it-none. They're the ones who say, Hey! I heard or my friend says or its illegal to....
Follow your training and do whats right.
Last, verify, verify, and verify.

Hello,
My name is Shavonnda. I have a certificate in Medical Billing in Coding and currently working 2 jobs @ local hospitals as a Unit Coordinator. Looking to transfer out of the parttime job into a staff relief position to have more time to focus on starting my very own medical billing business from home. I work 12hrs shifts 5 nights a week so it's kind of hard trying to make the time but I will. It's kind of difficult getting a position as a medical biller/coder cause they want you to have like 5 yrs experience hands-on, and how are you going to get that experience if people are saying the same thing. I do some billing and coding at work (Labor & Delivery) but not as much as I've learned or would like to do. So just looking to start my own thing this year - Wish me luck!

Welcome Andrew... so nice to have you with us, and I am glad to hear you are motivated and looking to network among peers. Unfortunately, though, I have to ask you to remove your URLS in your signature, at least for now. Posting self-referred URLs without admin approval goes against our posted TOS. We do allow URLs, but we treat them more or less as an earned privilege: you lend a helping hand in the true spirit of the Internet, and we let you post your link.
So, hurry on and read the rest of our member's posts. Lots of info, and opportunities to exchange ideas.

Andrew... I think that's awesome, and I like your attitude. You have just found a great group of people here and it looks like you are a great fit. to exchange. I have visited your web site and found the info you offer valuable. You have a lot to offer. I think you will earn your V.I.P. (and linking status) in no time. There is a great Flora Edwards quotes about helping: "In helping others, we shall help ourselves, for whatever good we give out completes the circle and comes back to us." Please do come back often.
