Linda,

Was that morale or immorale support ??    Grin

In1992, my medical director and I had to go to a dinner and seminar.  Most of those at our table were insurance and phamacy reps.  I had to visit the privy. When I left, they were all over my doctor like cockroaches on a snickers bar.  (btw, I love snickers but they dont love my waist line). When he left they were all over me asking me contract questions and more.  The food and seminar were mediocre. We both left as soon as we could, before the cheesecake.  This was where I developed a deep hatred for seminar chicken and coffee.  I guess  this was food you couldnt give to prisoners due to cruel and unusual punishment.

During lunch at an AAPC conference I attended this weekend.....No-one at the table was talking.....so I asked "So, tell me, where do all of you ladies work?"............The first woman to respond said, as she held up her hands as if to defend herself,  " Blue Cross and Blue Shield--but don't hold it against me!!!"............we all had a good laugh!!!

BCBS....YUCK!! I never had issues with them until I worked DME!! Hospital admissions, and general practice I was ok with.

Ive been to a few of them where 1/2 of the table were insurance reps.  Id listen to their complains how doctors fees are too high, how we send frivolous claims, how we upcode our visits, and that  the doctor orders too many tests.

Id ask, none ever worked for a doctor.  One bragged how she would deny every claim that came across her desk. She said she had no problem because about only 1% of the doctors would appeal the denial and she would deny the appeal and never hear anything more.  She said she got a nice bonus for saving her employer money.

It is interesting hearing the other side of the fence.
