He should speak with a lawyer experienced with health insurance contracting.

I have extensive experience with this and dont do it anymore.  You must know what you are doing and have lots of experience.  The insurance company has contracts that are anti-provider. they have the provider give away all rights.  They put clauses to protect them against anything and everything.  They want the provider to take such very low reimbursement rates

Many insurance companies refuse to make any changes to their contracts and fee schedules.  They put pressure on the doctor to sign these contracts.  They also have lots of experienced lawyers to come after you and beat you down.   Again, no class can help you.  I once went into a room to go over the contract,  There was a huge long table  On one side were 14 lawyers.  On my side, just me.  From the start it was attack, attack and attack, trying to discredit me from doing anything.  One contract negotiation lasted almost 2 years and then they dropped out with no warning  Another lasted 5 seconds.  They said NO to any negotiation. Within an hour, the hospital CEO called me and the doctor to his office.  The insurance company was putting pressure on him to have us contract as is.  We said no.  My doctor was told his privileges were revoked and he was no longer welcome in the hospital  We both went to his lawyers office. He took over and filed suit against the insurance company and hospital.  In the end, no contact, and still banned from the hospital.  The doctor didnt care.  He was given a nice settlement to allow him to retire which he did.  last, DONT TRY TO DO THIS YOURSELF. HAVE A LAWYER DO THIS FOR YOU.
